Epic Achievements

Sophia seems to be growing before my very eyes, and is learning to do brand new things every day. Some recent achievements include removing everything from my wallet, getting her own gum from Kris's purse, and my favorite - "fixing" the printer. I thought it was just out of an ink cartridge, and that's why the warning light kept blinking. It was blinking for days. Kris even mentioned it to me, and I mumbled something about getting some more ink - but I thought nothing of it, and I didn't bother to check what was wrong. One day I was greeted as I came home from work, "Well, I found out what was wrong with the printer..." I could hardly wait. "Your daughter", (it's never Kris's daughter when she's misbehaving), "put a bunch of change in the printer!" Yes, I am a genius for putting my jar of change right next to the printer, well within easy reach of a two-and-a-half year old. On another night, I walked into the kitchen to see my "little angel" happily munching Cheetos right from the bag. She was sitting on her little girl's chair, right underneath the high shelf where we keep our salty treats. It didn't take long to figure out that she carried her chair from the living room to climb up and get the Cheetos. Of course, it hasn't been all funny. There are some nights where she just doesn't want to cooperate with anything or anyone. Eating dinner, taking baths, going to bed and keeping her away from dangerous or fragile things are just a few in a long list of areas where she's gotten a bit willful. Yes, I can understand the meaning of the "Terrible Twos". ...And for everything that threatens my fast-receding hairline, she surpasses it all with moments of delicious sweetness. "I love you with all my heart, daddy!" And "I missed you sooooo much today!" Her excited footsteps to the door when I get home from work are echoed with a resounding "DADDY!" Do I have a chance? Have I already been wrapped around her finger? Probably.

She had you wrapped around her finger the day she was born!
